Kachinas
Kachina comes from the Hopi word "katsinum" meaning spirit. The Hopi tribe believes the spirits came to help many years ago during drought and starvation. The "katsunas" became human-like in appearance and performed songs and dances to help the people grow food again, and brought rain for the crops (which they still do today). In return, the people made wooden dolls representing the spirit's human like appearance.
Dry Creek Kachinas are Navajo made to keep prices reasonable. If you desire authentic Hopi, or Zuni dolls, we can get them!
